Just Peek

Just Peek and “Discover” is a diptych exploring the feelings of vulnerability while developing trust in a relationship. The fabric becomes a barrier to hide behind or escape from as trust eliminates its need.-In my work I try to emphasize how we communicate through our expressions or body language. The paintings therefore become a portrait of emotion in a moment rather than a picture of someone, which I believe to be especially relatable. I combine the photograph’s ability to quickly capture these moments with the personality that paint on canvas brings to create a depiction of humanity. I am exploring the possibilities of evoking real emotion through creating artificial relationships between viewer and subject.
